The Electric Summit & Expo is the evolution of the Charging & Battery Summit & Expo, the event that in previous years brought the Greek charging and battery market around one table. This year it widens to cover the entire electric economy.

Our aim is for it to become the annual meeting point of the sector in Greece: where manufacturers, importers, installers, energy providers, local government and end customers meet, talk and close partnerships.

Why this year matters

Greece has secured roughly €1.5 billion of additional fiscal space for 2026–2028 by activating the European escape clause for energy-security investment — funds that do not count towards the cap on public spending growth. Among the categories named explicitly: residential energy storage, battery technologies, charging infrastructure and electricity grid networks. In other words, almost word for word the four pillars of this event.

Social leasing — and the cost nobody counted

The European Commission has already approved Greece’s National Plan for the Social Climate Fund: an electric car for up to €150 per month over four years, a subsidy of €12,500 per household, €170 million for 15,000 households within 2026. Yet the household will pay 150 × 48 = €7,200, while installing a wallbox through a licensed installer currently costs €2,500 to €3,500 — where, for a 15 to 20 metre cable run, it should stay below €1,500. The charger alone can reach half of what the household pays, and it does not appear to have been costed in. Details like this will decide uptake — and they are not settled by a decision, they are settled by the market.
